Let’s Get Ready for a Revival!

Creating a Clean Slate in the Kitchen

The first video discusses the important of a “clean slate” especially in your kitchen. I find that it’s really important to be organized and have the space to create, to cook, to bake, etc.  If you are constantly pushing stuff aside to make a smidge of room just to get dinner done, what fun is that? When you wake up to a clean kitchen it gives you a sense of freedom, a breath to take, and then you’ll be able to accomplish the tasks ahead.

All those kitchen items and gadgets do you really need them? If your not using them often and your kitchen is cluttered it may be time to move them to another location. I’m not saying to go Marie Kondo or anything- our economy is to fragile to just throw stuff away. I’m suggesting putting stuff away in storage for now.

The second video is a walk through of my Favorite Kitchen Items and how I use them. Some items are just so darn handy and help gain momentum and ease in the kitchen, so watch what one’s do that for  me.

Make sure to comment on the facebook Day #2 post and youtube video itself, it helps in so many ways. Post before and after cleaning those counters!  It’ll help you gain “points” but also help others see the video in the algorithm of social media. If we all take small steps to change our habits in the kitchen “they” won’t have as much control over our food.  That’s why Freedom in Food is so important, and I hope you agree.

Second Video – A Few of my Favorite Things

Key Takeaways:

  1. Having a clean slate helps start the entire day to be ready to create those meals from scratch
  2. Have all your important useful items within several steps so they are easy to grab
  3. Clean those counters (all my homemade cleaners are coming your way tomorrow in a free ebook!)
  4. Place the items you rarely or never use in another section of the house, storage, etc
  5. Organization is KEY
  6. Group like items together and label everything. Here’s my favorite Chalkboard Sticker Paper on amazon (Grab chalkboard markers to!)

The colandar is a fine mesh so it can strain rice, herbs, cheese and angel hair pasta.

This crock pot is a large one- 10 qt and it’s awesome to cook large chickens or make lots of soups.

These bowls are amazing and I use them often, espcially for Sourdough to ferment overnight.

This grinder is great for grinding spices! You can save if you buy in bulk (from Azure Standard )

Now this Immersion Blender is an all time favorite, I use it a lot for soups, soap making, etc.

These knives are amazing!! They stay sharp and do a wonderful job for all things.

This dehydrator is a favorite, I use it alot for drying herbs and making apple rings.

I’m not sure what I would do without both of these items!

Oh gosh the love of my cast iron pans is intense!
