Hi Reader

Today I was removing seeds from a mammoth sunflower because everyone is doing that right now… right?

Well, something VERY pokey got me right in the crook of my thumb where it bends.

OUCH.

I pulled it out and thought, eh, it’ll be fine.

A few minutes later it had swollen up, turned a little blue and HURT like crazy.

Immediately I was like…

PLANTAIN. GET ME THE PLANTAIN.

Because when something feels like a sting, that’s exactly what I run to.

Literally.

I found some plantain, chewed it up to make a quick poultice and put it right on the spot.

And ahhhhh…

There goes the pain.

Every. Single. Time.

Honest to goodness, plantain is one of the most amazing herbs I’ve experienced — time and time again.

And the crazy part?

It grows EVERYWHERE.

It’s one of those plants that most people probably walk over, mow down or call a weed.

But once you learn it, you start seeing it.

Once you know what it is and where it grows, you can grow it — or simply recognize where it’s already growing.

And then comes the important part…

USE IT.

That’s really how I’ve learned herbs over the years. Not by trying to memorize hundreds of plants and everything they can possibly do.

One herb.

Learn it.

Know where to find it.

Know what I actually use it for.

Then add another.

And that’s exactly why I created my new Everyday Herbs hub.

I’ve had herbal information all over the place — videos, free downloads, workbooks, growing information, harvesting and drying, tinctures, salves and more.

I wanted ONE place where I could bring it all together and actually help you:

Learn It. Grow It. Use It.

And I’ll keep adding to it as I share more.

You can explore Everyday Herbs here:

Maybe today is the day you pick one herb and start learning it.

And plantain wouldn’t be a bad one. 😉

P.S. If you learn plantain, make sure you know how to positively identify it before using it. Knowing your plants comes FIRST!

P.S. Your turn — what’s one herb you KNOW? And yes, mint counts. 😂 Hit reply and tell me what it is and how you use it!

About

Welcome to my Blog- I’ll share with you what our Homestead looks like and how we raise 80% of our food, all organically, sustainably, naturally and beautifully.

I’m hoping to inspire you that you can do this as well! God has provided our family with all the things, but the big thing He has given us is the drive to get ‘er done! We didn’t start out with all this, we started very slow, replacing one thing at a time, learning one thing at a time.
