Let’s Get Ready for a Revival

Day #18

Cooking Meals from Scratch

I’ll admit we are very lucky that we raise the majority of our food so it makes it much easier to cook from scratch because it doesn’t come off the farm in a package with microwaveable directions. Luckily. If your not as lucky as me don’t worry cooking meals from scratch is still easy as long as you buy the whole ingredients. And what I mean by whole is not in a package that’s been dehydrated, or mixed, or gives directions really.

So whole chickens, ground meat (not in prepacked patties), whole vegetables (not frozen, canned), etc.

Below you will find (way to many photos) (unedited) of some home cooked meals straight off the homestead hopefully to inspire you. Plus clickable images that’ll direct you to my recipes- I would love to  hear what one’s you’d like to try!!

Here’s a video of my holiday baking but honestly it’s like this nearly every day, maybe not so many things at once but you get the point.

Laura Lawrence Hi friend, If your house smells like fresh bread… You’re probably doing something right. 😊 This week I’m sharing one of our family’s favorite sourdough recipes… Cinnamon Swirl Bread. It’s lightly sweet, soft, beautiful toasted, and makes incredible French toast if there’s any left the next morning. In the video I’ll show you…

  • Come take a walk through the garden 🌱

Laura Lawrence Hi friend, Come take a walk around the gardens with me. This time of year is one of my favorites because everything starts telling its story. Some things are thriving. • Your garden is planted… now what?

Laura Lawrence Hi Reader Planting the garden is exciting… But then comes the question almost every gardener asks: “Now what?” Should you fertilize? Should you weed? How often should you water? It arrived. 😅 My famous purple podded pole beans are starting to come in, gardens are producing, and before long we’ll be doing what feels like endless preserving. And honestly… This is one of my favorite times of year. The messy counters. The…

  • Sometimes things be ugly

Laura Lawrence Hi Reader Look not all gardening is pretty and front news worthy. I like to teach both sides of the coin, there’s the good, the bad and the ugly. Today is some ugly, because gardening is not perfection. It’s learning to see the ugly, perhaps try to help it. Some you win, and…
