Let’s Get Dirty! Glyphosate – Heirloom Seeds – Non -GMO VS Organic

🌱 Let’s Get Dirty!

Glyphosate • Heirloom Seeds • Non-GMO vs. Organic

Today’s topic is a big one — and yes, it can lead us down a bit of a rabbit hole. But I’m here to give you the basics, share what I’ve learned, and encourage you to do your own research.

Isn’t that amazing? That we’re still allowed to think for ourselves, make decisions, and take back power from corporations that honestly… don’t care about our health?

It’s time to say:
“No. I’m not eating that.”

Let’s do this together.

🌿 Glyphosate: What You Should Know

Even the NIH (National Institute of Health) has classified glyphosate as “moderately toxic and volatile.” It’s a synthetic herbicide used to kill weeds — but what else is it harming? Soil health, water quality, beneficial microbes, and even us.

“Glyphosate is a synthetic organophosphate compound that blocks the activity of enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate (EPSP) synthase and is used as a broad-spectrum pesticide. It is characterized as a volatile, moderately toxic, colorless, odorless crystalline solid or powder, and exposure occurs by inhalation, ingestion, or contact.”

Meanwhile, the EPA says there’s no evidence it causes cancer. But remember: They said the same about Agent Orange.

“No evidence that glyphosate causes cancer in humans. EPA’s database includes studies submitted to support registration of glyphosate and studies EPA identified in the open literature.”

According to Washington University, exposure to glyphosate increases the risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma by 41%.

It’s time to read, think, and question everything.

🌱 Heirloom vs. GMO Seeds

Even if you’re not saving seeds yet, choose heirloom whenever you can. They carry a piece of the past and hope for the future.

Read what is GMO and where to find them in at the Non Gmo Project.  – A really good read!

💭 So What Does Organic Really Mean?

To me, “organic” means:
Real. Untouched. Nourishing.
It means food and soil as close to what God intended — grown without chemicals, in harmony with nature.

Non-GMO is a start, but it’s not the finish line.
You’ve got to go deeper. Look closer. Ask more questions.

“God made dirt, and dirt won’t hurt.”
But then man came along and messed it up.

That’s why we grow our own, shop carefully, support good farms, and lean into wisdom — not marketing.

🙌 Final Thought

There is a growing community of people like you and me. We’re waking up, speaking out, growing food, and creating change — one seed, one meal, and one choice at a time.
