Here on the homestead Spring is Hoppin’ and the Chores are Non Stoppin’
The suns rays are visiting longer and the to do list is gaining momentum!

You’ll wake up in the morning with what you “think” your gonna accomplish only to discover that nothing on that list will be done because several other things popped up that take precedence.

Case in point this past Sunday- we need to wash the 80 buckets, 3 30 gallon containers and the sap evaporator that we used to hold sap in when we tapped our maple tree’s for syrup. It was finally nice enough out and not windy to blow the dirt around. But then I noticed that my bee’s were buzzin’ around this beautiful willow bush thingy and I realized I really need to get out to my apiary and unwrap them from their winter wardrobe and dive in to see how they are all doing.  So I donned my gear and attempted to light my smoker.  While getting into the hives I’m realizing that THERE ARE SOOOO MANY BEE”s and I wasn’t prepared to remove full honey frames (left over from last year) and add in many new frames and adjust their boxes to get them ready for spring & summer.

The hubby came over to ask how it was going and with my tone set to panic mode I was asking him “Should I even be doing this, there’s so much going on, I don’t even know what to do!”  He was very calm and said “Yes, you should be doing this. You love the bee’s. Now how can I help?”  Thank heavens he asked that because yes, I very much  needed his help. We proceeded to change out the frames that we JUST put together days before, gathered up 18 frames full of honey and making sure we left them plenty of resources and new frames to fill up and rearranged the boxes.  The pollen they are bringing in was phenomenal and I’m VERY Thankful for a patient and helpful husband.

You can check out the Bee video HERE if you’d like.

Now onto the NEW Recipes plus one old one that will be a great snack for anyone on these busy sunny summer days.
