Restaurant Style Wet Burrito From Scratch
These wet burritos are stuffed with delicious from scratch ingredients that will have you saying yummy without the restaurant guilt of processed food or the price tag!
Below you will find the ingredients list however not the exact quantity because you’ll be able to customize to your family size and what you have on hand. Which is great when a recipe lends itself to versatility. Everything (besides the wraps) from the recipe is homemade, from scratch, from real food, organic and incredibly delicious & nutritious
Ingredients:
- Large Tortilla Wraps <– Buy the one’s I used from Azure Standard 12 Inch Organic Tortilla Wraps
- Refried Beans <– Make your own in a crockpot
- Cooked Rice <– Bake with nourishing bone broth
- Browned Ground Pork/Beef/Turkey
- Black Beans <– Grow Your Own
- Taco Seasoning <– Make Your Own
- Cheese <– Learn to make Farmhouse Cheddar Cheese
- Enchilada Sauce (or salsa) <– Homemade with real ingredients
Directions:
- Prebake your Rice in the oven (make extra for another delicious meal)
- While browning your choice of ground meat make sure to add in 1/2 cup or more of Taco Seasoning
- In a large cast iron skillet place 1/2 cup of Enchilada Sauce or Salsa in the bottom and spread it around
- Lay out your large tortilla wraps on the counter and spread a layer around most of the wrap with Refried Beans
- Next add a layer down the middle of the Rice and Black Beans
- Place a nice amount of ground meat and sprinkle on the cheese
- Preheat oven to 400 Degrees F
- Wrap your tortilla by pinching one side, rolling the other two sides together and finish by pinching the remaining short side.
- Flip over and place into the skillet – I was able to do 2 large wraps in my 14 Inch cast iron skillet
- Spread about another cup of Enchilada Sauce covering all the wrap. Sprinkle on more cheese
- Place in the oven for approx 20 minutes or until done
Serve with homemade Sourcream , Fermented Salsa, Fermented Hot Sauce
