Meals from Scratch- Meal Planning- NOT!

Today my friends I”m going to talk to you about Meal Prepping, however it is not your typical meal prep talk with the exact ingredients, recipes and everything laid out. From my personal take on it – it just adds to much pressure. Like a checklist starring at me that I MUST do. But then someone gets sick, we went to a friends house, there’s leftovers to be had.  But that list…. it’s just starring at me like I MUST cook what it says. I just can’t handle it. I’ve tried it a bunch of times, it’s not my  jam. It may or may  not be yours- to teach their own right?!?

So what I prefer to do is like a scavenger hunt vulture style– I scan what I have in the cupboards, freezer and my canned goods. I assess ….

I think you get the point. For me it’s not so much pressure of being told what to do from that list I created a week ago that is yelling at me to cross it off!!  I feel like this may be more efficient, more economical.  When I would follow the typical meal planning  there always seemed to be an ingredient I needed, so a grocery list was made and we spent more money while plenty of food sits not being used in the pantry. You feel me?

So I created this document that may help you with your “Weekly Meal Prep”.  Walk around the kitchen, check out the fridge, freezer, pantry, storage, etc and see what needs to be used up.  There’s sections to fill in for those items.  Then you create your meals using the items you have on hand. Not from the store, from what you have on hand.

Your learning a few things here

1. To think outside of the “box”

2. Your being more self sufficient and not relying on the store to finish up that meal

3. Your getting smarter and more creative

4. Your not wasting food and letting it sit there for to long in the back of the dark cupboard

For me it’s a WIN all the way around.

So let’s be inspired and add some more helpful printables to our binders
