Today’s all about simple Soups, NOT from a can. Please NOT from a can.  Most soups are loaded with fillers, including MSG and we’ve recently discovered how awful MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate) is. If you need a reminder or your reaching for that can with the red label, READ HERE NOW.

I’m sharing with you several of my homemade soups that we all just love. The great thing with soup is that you can sneak SOOOOO much nutrition  into those bowls of goodness. Shhhhh don’t tell the kids. You also can sneak in Homemade Bone Broth- the best ingredient! The easiest way I find to help those picky eaters is to use an immersion blender to blend up the soups until they are creamy (Plus crackers don’t hurt either). The trick with the immersion blender is to go longer than you think. At first it may seem grainy but if you keep going it’ll get super creamy.

I also LOVE soups because it’s always all of our own ingredients that we grow organically right here on the farm. Get ready for a special announcement where you can learn from me how to raise 80% of your own food very soon!

Here’s my recommendation for my Immersion Blender. If you purchase through this link it helps support my website & my efforts without changing your cost at all! Win Win!

And all good soups can be made in a crock pot am I right? Here’s my favorite you can easily double many recipes to save half

A word on Salt: Salt is actually good for you…well GOOD salt is good for you!! I absolutely love Redmond’s Real Salt, you can grab it from Amazon or Azure Standard

“The Way Salt Should Be-

We think salt should be simple. It shouldn’t contain artificial additives or unhealthy pollutants. And it shouldn’t be stripped of beneficial trace minerals. It should be sea salt the way nature made it— nothing added, nothing taken away. Redmond Real Salt is unrefined sea salt mined from an ancient seabed in Utah where it’s safe from modern pollutants. It’s pure, unprocessed, and full of trace minerals that give it one-of-a-kind nutritional benefits and a subtly sweet flavor that brings out the best in each bite.” From Redmond’s.

Basic Soup Recipe:

All the veggies you have + bone broth + spices Cook on low 5 to 6 hours Use Immersion Blender, and cheese and/or milk.

Sourdough Cracker Recipe:

Sourdough discard 2 cups Melted butter 2 tbsps Garlic salt 2 tsps Redmonds Real Salt Mix together the top 3 ingredients, spread evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. sprinkle salt Bake at 325 F for 30 to 45 minutes. Depending on how thick you made your crackers. I suggest thinner the better. Watch carefully. Score with a pizza cutter after 15 minutes if you choose.

Watch how I take some weird combo ingredients in this soup
