DIY Non Stick Cooking Spray
I’m always looking for ways to recreate items that I typically would have bought from the store but to make it at home for much less and usually much safer ingredients. After finding this “recipe” I adjusted it to add in a bit more olive oil to really help it “not stick”. I enjoy using it and will only be using this when I need a “non stick cooking spray”. Other times I may use lard or butter which works wonderfully as well.
I love these Glass Spray Bottles from Amazon, they work really good. I also use them for my DIY Wood Furniture Polish as well. I’ll also be transitioning my plastic ones for my All Purpose Kitchen Cleaner as well over to the glass. I also LOVE this Olive Oil from Azure Standard. They have great options especially for bulk and organic items. See if you have a drop location near you.
Items Needed
- Spray Bottle
- 1/2 cup cooking oil olive, avocado, etc.
- 1 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Measure out 1 1/4 cup water into a glass measuring cup.
- Add 1/2 cup liquid oil of your choice (I like to have one bottle with olive oil and one bottle with avocado oil ready to use at all times).
- Pour into spray bottle. That’s it! Anytime you want to use your cooking spray, simply give the bottle a few good strong shakes then coat your pan, veggies, skillet, or anything else!
