There’s only 3, ONLY 3! The bottom dropped out.

How this lesson refers to our current world right now. There’s HOPE

Friends, there’s only 3 jars. There’s suppose to be 14, 11 are missing. Ugh what happened? Well let me tell you what happened.

After HOURS and HOURS of washing the tomatoes, chopping the tomatoes, preparing the tomatoes using my kitchen aid & sauce attachment, boiling, and boiling and boiling. Finally the sauce was ready to be placed into the jars. Yay!

No, not yay. As I was filling jar #4 by holding the jar over the sauce to help reduce the spills & splatters of placing the sauce into the jar, because I thought I was making it easier for myself as I’ve done 1000 times before with no problems.

The bottom dropped out.

The bottom dropped out and fell away from the jar #4. That darn jar #4. The class plops into the LARGE stockpot full of my labor.

I gasp. I say some not so lovely words.

There it is, the bottom of jar #4.

I”m frustrated and sad and in complete disbelief. That jar # was a weak one, it happens. BUT here’s the kicker I absolutely CAN NOT use the remaining sauce – at least 11 quart jars! Why not you ask? What if a shard of the glass is left in the sauce and we consume it? My kids consume it? I’m not sure what would happen but I absolutely CAN NOT take a chance. I can’t even feed it to the animals.

I’ll try not to hate jar #4 but for now I am glad it’s in the garbage and out of my sight.

I will also MAKE MESSES from now on (I mean even more of a mess) and will NEVER fill a jar OVER the stock pot again. What a lesson to learn, but it’s learned and never to be forgotten. So hopefully reading this will be a by product lesson learned for you as well.

BUT it also made me think about how the World feels like the bottom is dropping out at this very moment?

Brings me to this photo that I created a couple years back. Same statement applies to this very day does it not?

Do you feel like the bottom is dropping out to? I certainly do there are SO MANY THINGS going on right now. You know the things, there’s a lot of sadness & evil that I do not even have to bring up or mention.

So I thought I’d offer this lesson as well.

In a world of complete chaos it’s good to be busy. It’s good to be busy creating something, and I often relate creating to food. Surprise huh?

Get in the kitchen and make some good ol fashion food! Feed yourself, your family and your soul. It feels good to create and to eat, so why not combine them both? Sit down, say a prayer and eat together. There’s HOPE in that meal.

One of my favorite scripture’s is this one:

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not onto thine own understanding” Proverbs 3:5 KJV

Read it again. You can not understand what’s going on this world, your world. But realizing that HE knows EVERYTHING that’s going in this world, your world. To trust in Him that he’s got this. He’s got it all. So when the bottom falls out remember to trust in the Lord with all thine heart.

Also a sort of side note, go ahead and stock up on some items in order to have plenty of hand for these uncertain times. I always recommend purchasing food that you’ll actually eat, that are shelf stable for quite some time.

Honestly its’ money in the pocket because prices are always going up and its’ really nice to have that security of feeding yourself and your family with good food.
