Learning Old Fashioned Ways in a Modern World with Laura Lawrence

Hi Reader

The garden is in full swing, but the leaves are starting to die back — a total smack in the face reminder that Winter is Coming!! (Total throwback to Game of Thrones, right?)

We’ve been busy over here — canning, preserving, harvesting, printing workbooks for homeschooling… and gearing up for a BIG chicken harvest day. Yep, 115 meat birds will be processed during the first week of September!

Speaking of September…

📣 LIVE Q&A CALL — Wednesday, September 3rd!

I’m hosting a LIVE Q&A over on Patreon for ALL members — and yes, that includes you if you’re signed up (it’s super quick and free!).

Whether you want to jump in by video or text, this is your chance to ask me your questions, get inspired, and connect with like-minded folks.

’m taking you along in the garden in my latest video — showing what’s growing, what’s fading, and how I’m preserving it all.

PLUS, I’m sharing several soup recipes that make using your harvest easy and delicious.

Thanks for being here as we dig into the season’s bounty and prepare for what’s ahead. I’m so grateful to be walking this journey with you.

Join me for a raw and real late summer garden tour and harvest haul! We’re diving into what’s growing (and what’s struggling), harvesting the goods, and keeping it honest about the behind-the-scenes chaos of homesteading life.

Recipe

This easy Roasted Eggplant Soup is delicious and has a creamy texture thanks to the immersion blender. I then add in Black Beans to give it some texture within the soup, plus added protein benefits.

Recipe

This soup is yummy, kid approved and easy! Plus it pairs great with of course the best side kick- Grilled Cheese!

About

Welcome to my Blog- I’ll share with you what our Homestead looks like and how we raise 80% of our food, all organically, sustainably, naturally and beautifully.

I’m hoping to inspire you that you can do this as well! God has provided our family with all the things, but the big thing He has given us is the drive to get ‘er done! We didn’t start out with all this, we started very slow, replacing one thing at a time, learning one thing at a time.
