Weed Tea
🌿 Weed Tea Fertilizer: A Free Garden Boost!
Looking to feed your garden for free? Weed Tea might be just what your soil’s craving. It’s simple to make, eco-friendly, and powerful—just the way nature intended. Bonus? You’re putting those pesky weeds to good use!
🪴 What You’ll Need:
-
5-gallon bucket (or similar container)
-
A lid (to keep bugs and critters out)
-
Weeds and grass clippings (yes, seeds are fine—they’ll break down!)
-
Water
🧪 Instructions:
-
Fill the Bucket:
Stuff your bucket with weeds and grass clippings. Don’t worry about seeds—they won’t survive the process. -
Add Water:
Fill the bucket to the top with water. -
Cover and Steep:
Place the lid on the bucket and set it in a hot, sunny spot—like a greenhouse, patio, or side of the shed. -
Let it Brew:
Let it sit for 2 to 6 weeks. You’ll know it’s ready when the water turns brown and the plant matter looks broken down.
⚠️ Heads-Up:
It’s gonna stink—really stink—but that’s normal and a sign that your Weed Tea is ready.
💧 How to Use It:
Weed Tea is strong, so dilution is key!
-
Mix It:
In a second 5-gallon bucket, mix 2 cups of Weed Tea with water to dilute it. -
Feed Your Plants:
Use about 1 cup of the diluted mixture per plant. It’s not exact—observe how your plants respond and adjust as needed.
This natural fertilizer boosts your plants with nitrogen and micronutrients while recycling what would otherwise be garden waste. Happy gardening!
