Welcome to the root’s revival with Food Prood; where we are going back to our roots and learning old fashioned ways in a modern world.

Hi Reader

Why hello, June! ☀️ It’s game-on time here at the homestead.

We’re diving into big-time gardening, getting the bee yard all set up, and yes — finally hitting the beach for the first time this year. It’s a bit of a juggling act trying to keep up with everything, but hey… there’s always room for a little chaos (and learning)!

Below you’ll find new videos and some delicious GARLIC summer worthy recipes!

Thanks for being here — I seriously appreciate each and every one of you.

Talk soon,

In this video, I’m taking you along as I move some bees from their nucs into their full-sized hives. It’s one of those big steps in the beekeeping season, and I thought it’d be fun to show you how I do it.

Recipe

If you planted garlic last fall, it’s almost time to trim those scapes — especially if you planted hardneck varieties. When they start curling, you’ll want to snip them off to help the bulbs size up. And here’s a fun way to use them: fry them up! Garlic scapes get tender and crispy in the pan — a garlicky treat that’s perfect on just about anything.

Another fun way to use up all those garlic scapes.

How to Grow Garlic

“Growing garlic is an absolute must — easy to plant, low maintenance, and the payoff is huge, especially when those scapes start showing up.”

In this full tour, I’m taking you around our gardens, pig pen, and chicken coop to show you what’s growing, what’s working — and what’s not.

About

Welcome to my Blog- I’ll share with you what our Homestead looks like and how we raise 80% of our food, all organically, sustainably, naturally and beautifully.

I’m hoping to inspire you that you can do this as well! God has provided our family with all the things, but the big thing He has given us is the drive to get ‘er done! We didn’t start out with all this, we started very slow, replacing one thing at a time, learning one thing at a time.
