It's soup season!

Laura Lawrence

Hi Reader

The weather is changing around here, especially at night, and boy has it been moody!

The clouds have been fabulous to watch—light, dark, constantly changing and bringing in these splashes of sunshine and darkness.

It’s fabulous.

And you know what else it means?

SOUP SEASON.

Which happens to come at the perfect time because there is still an abundance coming out of the garden that needs to be used up.

That’s exactly what so many of my soup recipes are about.

Use what’s coming from the garden. Grab something you preserved earlier in the season. Add some homemade broth for extra nourishment. Throw it all together and suddenly you’ve got this warm, cozy bowl filled with flavors you captured throughout the season.

Soup brings the garden into the kitchen, one bowl at a time.

And guys… soup is EASY and nourishing!

It can simmer away in the crock pot all day or you can throw together a pot in under half an hour. It doesn’t have to be complicated.

Use what you have. Change the vegetables. Swap the meat. Toss in some herbs. Recipes are guides, remember?

We love pairing soup with a loaf of homemade artisan bread or homemade crackers.

Because have you SEEN what they want for organic crackers these days?!

No thank you. I’ll make them.

So if the cooler nights have you ready to pull out the soup pot too, I gathered my soup recipes together right here:

Go see what you already have in the garden, pantry or freezer and make yourself a pot.

When God provides, we preserve—and then we get to eat it all winter long.

About

Welcome to my Blog- I’ll share with you what our Homestead looks like and how we raise 80% of our food, all organically, sustainably, naturally and beautifully.

I’m hoping to inspire you that you can do this as well! God has provided our family with all the things, but the big thing He has given us is the drive to get ‘er done! We didn’t start out with all this, we started very slow, replacing one thing at a time, learning one thing at a time.
