The way I look at homesteading skills has changed everything.

Hi Reader

Money in the bank, y’all.

I say this ALL the time around here.

Grow garlic and save some to plant again next year?

Money in the bank.

Learn to save your own seeds instead of buying them again?

Money in the bank.

Learn to make bread, preserve the garden, grow dry beans, use an herb, or turn a pile of potatoes into the french fries your family would normally buy?

Yep. Money in the bank.

Because here’s the thing—

A jar of food eventually gets eaten. And a loaf of homemade bread disappears around here ridiculously fast.

But the skill doesn’t disappear.

Once you know how to do something, you can use it over and over again. And you can teach it to your kids, too.

That’s why I don’t look at all these homesteading skills as just more chores.

They’re investments.

And I finally put this whole philosophy into one place:

Money in the Bank:

Go take a peek. I have a feeling once you start looking at your skills this way, you’ll start noticing just how much you’ve already got sitting in the bank.

Little by little. Skill by skill.
Money in the bank, y’all.

P.S. What’s one skill you’ve learned that you don’t have to pay someone else to do—or buy from the store anymore? Hit reply and tell me. I want to hear these!

About

Welcome to my Blog- I’ll share with you what our Homestead looks like and how we raise 80% of our food, all organically, sustainably, naturally and beautifully.

I’m hoping to inspire you that you can do this as well! God has provided our family with all the things, but the big thing He has given us is the drive to get ‘er done! We didn’t start out with all this, we started very slow, replacing one thing at a time, learning one thing at a time.
