Never Give Up – Your Garden & Our Society Needs You

After several months of gardening chaos, crazy weather and the feeling of a doomed garden it taught me something I would like to pass onto you.

Never Give Up on YOUR Garden
Never Give Up on Gardening

Remember the reasons on WHY you are growing food and why you are gardening.

Remember Food Security & Having Freedom in Food

Below you’ll find out what I’m doing to get ready for next year plus what YOU can do to prepare now plus exclusive offer on my Seed Saving Course

Make sure to watch the video to see my front garden tour!

After speaking with several people who have watched my video in regards to that above mentioned doomed garden it also gave them hope that it wasn’t just them, they weren’t failing entirely, and a breath of relief was had.  They can do it, they can keep doing it.  It happens sometimes, not everything works out or as I like to say “gang busters”. Sometimes some crops perform really really well one year and disastrous the next year. The weather has a lot to do with it as well.

However don’t blame everything on the weather – sometimes it is you. I’ve always taught that YOU get what YOU put into it.  So yes hard work still has to be done.

For me what I learned this year is poop.  Well chicken & pig poop to be exact. I need A LOT more of it in my front garden. The “older” side of the garden really needs to be bulked up with some fertilizer in the form of chicken & pig poop. We  haven’t been putting in enough.  To help with this, we will be overwintering the pigs and perhaps some chickens right in the garden itself!  This is the straight poo people. Talk about taking some steps out when the fertilizer will be dropping right there. So drop it like it’s hot piggies! Drop it like it’s hot!

I will also be focusing on weeding only in the row’s of plants itself. Next year I will be placing the rows a little further apart allowing for a push mower to be used to “weed” for  me. I’m really excited for this idea!

Why?

  • It will allow me to focus more time on the plants themselves and not the weeds.
  • I will be able to stop the weeds from going to seed and spreading relentlessly.
  • The weeds that do get cut will then fertilize the ground even more.
  • It’s a form of “no till” and some permaculture sprinkled in there.
  • Help minimize erosion.

Those are my two BIG things I will be implementing and working on.

So what can you do?

Take a minute and really access the situation – Write it down in your Gardening Journal NOW my friends. Do NOT wait.

What worked?

What didn’t?

What was the weather like?

What kind of pests did you encounter?

What did you do about it?

Did you keep track of your HARVEST & Preserving?

(use my trackers yearly, they are SOOOOOO helpful, I promise)

What seeds worked well? Or didn’t?

THEN…..

Purchase next year’s seeds now – there may be some clearance seeds because they are “old” seeds. Don’t worry about that, they last for years!
