Laura Lawrence

Hi Friend!

The wink wink canadian wildfire smoke has been pretty intense here today, so I thought I’d share what I’m doing to support my body during all of this and honestly trying not to freak out!

🍵 Today I’m brewing a tea with:

• Dandelion root

• Burdock root

• Mint

• Lemon balm

• A few other herbs for flavor

Once it’s cooled a bit, I’ll stir in some of my honey.

My favorite way to brew herbal tea: Bring water to a boil, turn the heat off, add your herbs, cover, and let steep for at least 15 minutes (longer is perfectly fine).

Along with tea, I’m personally using tinctures of:

• Violet

• Dandelion

• Burdock

• Nettle

• Mullein

I’m also taking my Drainage Tone and activated charcoal as part of my own wellness routine. With everything going on, I’m also reaching for herbs that traditionally support a calm mind, like motherwort and St. John’s wort.

The smoke, constant news, and uncertainty can be stressful, and I think caring for our emotional well-being is just as important as caring for our physical health.

You can learn more about many of these herbs here: https://foodprood.com/herbalresources/

This is simply what I’m doing and sharing what works for me. It’s not medical advice, and I always encourage you to do your own research and make the decisions that are best for you and your family.

Old fashioned ways in a modern world. 🌿

Warmly,
– Laura

About

Welcome to my Blog- I’ll share with you what our Homestead looks like and how we raise 80% of our food, all organically, sustainably, naturally and beautifully.

I’m hoping to inspire you that you can do this as well! God has provided our family with all the things, but the big thing He has given us is the drive to get ‘er done! We didn’t start out with all this, we started very slow, replacing one thing at a time, learning one thing at a time.
